PRODUCTION
OF SILICON CARBIDE
Silicon Carbide is obtained starting from high purity sands
and quartzs and petroleum coke which are reacted in an electrical furnace
at 2000º C, according to the following reaction :
SiO2 + 3C => SIC + 2CO
Once the crude is obtained, it will be elaborated according
to a process which will guarantee a quality final product.
Basically, the main steps for the manufacturing process are
: selection, grinding, magnetic separation, dust absorption, sieving, mixing
and packing.

has a Laboratory with the most sophisticated means to control the quality,
as laser diffraction, atomic absorption, induction kiln, etc.
All the products are inspected before, during and after the
manufacturing process, not being dispatched until the quality is guaranteed.

has implanted in Vadillos plant a quality assurance system and has obtained
the Registered Certificate ISO 9001:2000. In this way, it will be certified
the carrying out of general specifications of the products as well as customer’s
special requirements
